Q. How long will it take to set up my web hosting account?
A. Your account will be set-up instantly if you pay with Nochex, GoogleCheckout or PayPal. For all other methods, set-up will be completed after successful receipt of cleared funds.

Q. What information do you require to set up my web hosting account?
A. We will require details of the domain or domains you wish to be hosted. We will also require your name, full postal address, email address and telephone number.

Q. What information will I receive once the web hosting is set up?
A. We will send you a Welcome email containing important instructions on how to access your account.

Q. If I transfer to you will I need to purchase a new domain name?
A. No. Simply select and purchase a hosting package. You will be presented with the option to enter a domain name which you maintain with another service provider.

Q. How long does it take for my new domain name to start working?
A. They usually work in the UK within 2 hours but it may be longer depending on where you are in the world. You should allow up to 48 hours before contacting support.

Q. I don't have a domain name, do I need one for a web hosting account?
A. Yes you will. You can purchase a domain name from our website together with a web hosting package.

Q. If I already have a domain name, can I still host with you?
A. Yes. All we need is the domain name to set-up your web hosting account.

Q. Can I transfer my domain name to you?
A. Yes. It is free to transfer .uk names to us, however there is a charge for global names which is currently £10. When you transfer your global names to us we also add another year of registration free.

Q. Do I have to transfer my domain name to you in order to use your web hosting services?
A. No. You may use our web hosting services but you will be required to point your domain name to our servers.

Q. What are your nameservers?
A. Our nameservers are: ns.mainnameserver.com and ns2.mainnameserver.com

Q. What is your IPS tag?
A. When transferring your domains to our control you should set the IPSTAG to EXTEND

Q. Can I transfer my domain name to another company?
A. Yes you can. We do not charge to transfer away from us, however, the receiving registrar may levy a charge.

Q. How long does it take to transfer a domain?
A. Once the transfer has been submitted, it can take anywhere between 24 - 72 hours.

Q. Do you offer domain parking?
A. Yes. Simply purchase a domain name without hosting.

Q. How do I renew my domain name?
A. You will be notified by email reminders at various intervals right up until the day prior to expiry.

Q. Do you offer an easy access control panel?
A. Yes. All hosting accounts include our easy to use control panel. You will also have access to our Customer Centre where you can manage your services.

Q. Can I install CGI scripts on my website?
A. Yes. We also provide an extensive script library for some accounts which you can find in your hosting control panel.

Q. Are FrontPage Extensions available?
A. No. FrontPage Extensions are no longer supported with the latest Apache web server software.

Q. Do you support FTP?
A. Yes, FTP is supported.

Q. Do you offer phpMyAdmin for database administration?
A. Yes, phpMyAdmin comes pre-installed into your control panel.

Q. Do you offer dial up Internet Access?
A. Yes, we offer a free dial-up access service. We don't charge for accessing the service but you may still have to pay your telephone service provider at their standard call rates. Simply set your modem to dial 0845 604 0489

Q. Can I host any adult content on my website?
A. Customers website's and use of the Services may be used for lawful purposes only and the Customer may not submit, publish or display any content that breaches any UK law, statute or regulation.

Q. Do you backup web sites?
A. We backup the servers for our own use in case of system failures but do not provide an individual backup service. Customers are provided with the facility to backup their own web sites.

Q. Do you put adverts on my website?
A. No, we don't put adverts on your website.

Q. Can I upgrade my account or add more features?
A. Yes, simply contact support.

Q. Do you provide secure server facilities for customers to use?
A. Yes, all of our hosting packages have access to a secure server giving all customers the ability to have any of their web pages load securely.

Q. What is the preferred method of payment?
A. We recommend that UK based customers pay online with their credit or debit card using our Nochex payment gateway. We also accept UK cheques/P.O's or you can pay securely online with any major credit/debit card through one of our other third party payment gateway providers. We currently use Nochex, GoogleCheckout and PayPal.

Q. Can I pay by cheque?
A. Yes, simply select that option during the checkout process.

Q. Do you accept cheques from citizens living in EU member states?
A. No, regrettably we cannot accept foreign cheques as they incur high bank processing charges and take between 4 - 8 weeks to clear. If your EU bank uses IBAN numbers you can easily transfer your payment to us which is much quicker than cheques. You'll need our IBAN number so please contact us.

Q. Are my credit card details secure?
A. We do not collect or ever see your credit card details. All credit card transactions are handled securely by third party payment providers who have their own security policies.

Q. Can I use my web space for commercial activities?
A. Yes, you can use it for commercial or other purposes as long as your activities are legal in the UK.

Q. Can you design my website for me?
A. Yes. Please contact us with a brief outline of the type of site you require.

Q. Do you provide technical support?
A. Yes, Customers can send support requests to us by logging in to the customer centre. We also provide a limited phone service for quick fault reporting.

Q. Do you have a minimum term contract?
A. No, there is no obligation to use our service for any set period of time, although it should be noted that our hosting prices are yearly rates and we cannot issue pro-rata refunds against unused months beyond our 30 day money back guarantee period.

Q. Do you provide co-location services?
A. No, we don't provide such services, though we can provide dual or quad core dedicated servers as an alternative.
